The second story in MASS's Beyond the Building film campaign features the ecologist Ilafa Likolo Arthure. Born in Ilima, Likolo grew up in the forest of the Congo and at a young age began adamantly advocating for the endangered wildlife and nature surrounding his community. MASS and the African Wildlife Foundation partnered to build the Ilima Primary School with the intention that sustainable practices will be taught both during the construction process and in the classroom. Likolo became a skilled carpenter when he saw his methods and his craft could reach far beyond the building he was helping construct.
