In 2015, MASS launched the Lo-Fab, "local fabrication," advocacy campaign to showcase a design process that highlights and scales local innovation and ideas, hires local labor, and uses local materials. This is the process that translates MASS’s core principles into actions: that all architecture can improve lives, that it must have a transcendent idea to bring forth systemic change, and that the building process itself must be curated to produce dignity.
The Lo-Fab exhibit uses two of MASS’s projects as case studies in this ethos and process, using photos, illustrative diagrams, documentary footage and material artifacts from the finished buildings to tell this story.
